Coconut & Copper Scrubber – for pans that need more than a polite wipe
Some washing-up requires finesse.
Some requires a small, angry coconut.
Our Coconut & Copper Scrubber is made from a tightly rolled mat of tough natural coconut fibre, held firmly together with copper wire.
The coconut does the scrubbing. The copper keeps the whole contraption in one useful piece.
No plastic sponge. No green synthetic scourer gradually disintegrating beside the sink. Just simple materials and a healthy amount of scrubbing power.
Why coconut fibre?
Coconut coir comes from the tough outer husk of the coconut, so it is naturally strong, springy and rather good at shifting stubborn food and grime.
It gives you proper scrubbing power without needing a plastic scourer, and it works brilliantly for everyday washing-up, pots, pans, trays, sinks and plenty of other cleaning jobs around the kitchen.
- Natural coconut fibre does the scrubbing
- Copper wire holds the rolled coconut fibre securely together
- Plastic-free alternative to synthetic scourers
- Reusable – rinse, dry and bring it back for another fight
- Great for pots, pans and everyday washing-up
Put it to work
Wet the scrubber, add your usual washing-up soap and get stuck in. It is particularly useful for cooked-on food, greasy pans and those mysterious marks that apparently appeared entirely by themselves.
The coconut fibre is the part that touches and scrubs the surface. Just keep an eye on the copper wire as the scrubber gets older and make sure no exposed bit of wire is dragging across whatever you’re cleaning.
For particularly delicate or coated surfaces, use a bit of common sense: go gently and test first if you’re unsure.
After use, rinse it thoroughly and leave it somewhere it can dry properly.
When your scrubber finally gives up
When the coconut has fought its last saucepan, you can put the scrubber into your compost.
The coconut fibre will break down, leaving the copper wire behind. When you eventually come across the wire while turning or spreading the compost, pull it out and recycle or dispose of it appropriately.
No need to perform intricate surgery on a tired scrubber beforehand. Let the compost do the boring bit.
Tough pan. Tough coconut. Get on with it.
