Our packing and postage page explains how we pack your Save Some Green order, what delivery costs, and why your parcel may arrive in a box that has already had a useful little life.
Packing and postage with recycled packaging
Yes. We really aren’t joking when we say we use recycled packaging. We definitely do.
Whenever possible, your Save Some Green order is packed in reused boxes, rescued jiffy bags, recycled paper delivery bags, paper tape and other packaging that is still perfectly good at doing its job.
Because throwing away usable packaging just so we can buy shiny new packaging would be a bit daft, frankly. Good packing and postage should protect your order without creating a mountain of unnecessary waste.
Delivery costs
We believe you shouldn’t have to choose between affordable delivery and taking care of the Earth. We keep our postage simple, practical and as fair as we can.
Where we can, we ship your order the same day. Larger or more awkward orders may need a little more careful packing time, because nobody wants a sad soap avalanche or a toothbrush escape attempt.

Small parcel
£5.00For lovely soap bars and other small parcel orders.
Bigger parcel
£9.00For larger orders that need more box, more care and more courier muscle.
Eco friendly packaging without shipping air
We put real effort into avoiding “shipped air”. That means choosing eco friendly packaging that fits the order properly, rather than sending one tiny thing in a box big enough to rent out as a studio flat.
Right-sized packaging helps make deliveries more efficient. More sensible parcels fit into each load, which can help reduce wasted space in transport and keep delivery costs under control.

Don’t throw it away just yet
It seems crazy to throw packaging away when it can be used to pack your items securely and safely, especially if we can encourage you to reuse it again afterwards.
Our recycled paper delivery bags are fantastic for lining compost bins for kitchen scraps. Boxes can be reused for storage, parcels, craft projects, chaotic cable collections, or whatever else your household requires.
Then, when it really has reached the end of the road, recycle it properly. Honourable retirement, rather than immediate bin-based doom.
Plastic free postage, packed properly
Plastic free postage still has to do the boringly important bit: protect your order. There is no point sending lovely plastic-free swaps if they arrive looking like they have been hoofed through a hedge.
So we use the most sensible packaging available for the job: reused boxes where possible, recycled packaging to cushion the order, and paper tape to keep things secure without adding unnecessary plastic tape.
- We pack orders carefully so products are held securely in the box.
- We reuse clean protective packaging where it is suitable.
- We fill voids with useful recycled materials, including cardboard rolls from a paper specialist we know.
- We use paper tape rolls too, because light, solid and useful is a very pleasing little combination.
There is a strange satisfaction in packing a box perfectly. Like Tetris, but with a sisal back scrubber.
Delivery notes, safe places and courier instructions
It is enormously important to us that your parcel gets to you safely and in a timely fashion. We put a lot of work into getting your order ready, and we want you to be happy with the result.
At checkout, you can use the delivery notes box for specific courier instructions. That is the place for things like “please leave in the recycling box on the left-hand side of the door” or “deliver to the porch if no one answers”.
Those delivery notes are printed with your order paperwork and used for the shipping label, so what you type is the instruction the postie or courier sees.
You are in control of the useful delivery details, and we get a clear visual note while packing the parcel too.
We choose couriers to give the right balance of service and price, but no delivery service is perfect every single time. If you do have any issues, please just get in touch. Please be nice. We want to help.
If your box looks familiar…
If you get a parcel which hints at once being six bottles of Pinot Grigio, don’t be sad at the loss of an overly relaxed evening or three.
Instead, delight at your fabulous eco selection. Revel in its sisal goodness, relish in its soapy luxuriance, and really enjoy the other things too.

For most customers, the important thing is simple: your order should arrive safely, sensibly and without unnecessary packaging waste. For wholesale customers, the same principle applies, just with more boxes and slightly more box-based satisfaction.
Packed with care, not pointless new packaging
We will always aim to send your order securely, sensibly and with as much reused or recycled packaging as we can. It may not always look showroom-perfect, but that is rather the point.
